The project was completed successfully and well within a very short period of 15 days sprint to create a highly polished and higher end digital store front to Crown Jewellers. During two weeks, our team worked on the idea of grasping the beauty and reliability of their physical shop and transferring it to an e-commerce experience with a high level of performance. We quickly created a multi-tiered product catalogue of their large collections of hand-crafted silver and moissanite, merged a multi-currency dynamic CAD/USD pricing engine, and created a perfectly responsive mobile experience. This dynamic pivot allowed the brand to have a presence in North America retail immediately without losing the luxurious experience of their fine jewelry.
Our main technical problem was to design a platform that would allow to structure a multi-level, multi-category product inventory without filling the user interface with details. Crown Jewellers has a wide variety of products, including traditional baby bangles or men kad, iced-out moissanite rings, or silver coins. We had to come up with a user-friendly, highly-filtered navigation system that enabled the shoppers to easily move between these different collections. Moreover, since jewelry business is mainly about visual luster to make sales, we were forced to put strict image optimization measures in place to show off their jewelry in gorgeous and sharp detail without compromising on the lightning-fast page loading speed.
Also, the online sale of expensive, artisanal jewelry needs to build instant trust online. We overcame this by incorporating the aspects of confidence-building into the user journey in a strategic manner.
